For Gustavo Pratto Academy · October 2026

An app for the academy, built around levelling up.

Players see exactly where they stand and what gets them to the next level. Coaches take the register in two taps, even with no signal. You see every programme, every payment and every player in one place.

The brief

A coaching app, not a booking system.

This sells and runs your coaching, and it tracks a player's progress through your levels. It is deliberately not a court hire app, because that is a different product and it would slow this one down.

What it does

  • Group coaching programmes: joining, paying, renewing
  • One to one lessons with your coaches
  • Attendance, and what happens when someone misses
  • Skills scored by a coach, and promotion between levels
  • Coaching video, messages and announcements
  • Parents managing their children's training
  • Tournaments, draws and results

What it does not

  • Court hire and court availability
  • Casual or open play, and social matchmaking
  • Club membership, the bar, equipment hire
  • Anything that needs a till

A session records where it is played. There is no court diary to keep up to date.

The look

Black and gold. Calm, premium, legible on a bright court.

Real screens, not sketches. One accent colour so the thing to do next is always obvious, numbers set in a face built for them, and text that passes contrast standards at arm's length in sunlight.

Home screen showing the next session, the week ahead and the monthly race
HomeThe next session leads, with one tap to confirm you are coming.
Promotion screen showing three targets and the level ladder
PromotionThree targets, and the one thing to do this week to stay on track.
Monthly leaderboard with a podium and ranked players
The monthly boardResets every month, so it never belongs to whoever joined first.
Booking a lesson, showing coaches with prices and next free slots
Book a lessonReal prices and the next free slot, before anyone commits.
Skills screen grading eighteen padel shots
Every shot, gradedAll eighteen, with the weakest flagged so there is something to practise.

The eighteen shots a coach grades

Each one scored out of ten, the average driving promotion, and the two weakest surfaced to the player as something to work on. Named the way they are named on court.

How it goes

Something you can use in about six weeks.

Built in stages, each one finished and usable before the next starts. You see it working throughout, not at the end.

STAGE 1
FoundationsAccounts, your brand, players, coaches and levels.
1 to 2 weeks
STAGE 2
Programmes and paymentPlayers join, pay by card and renew. You can take money.
2 weeks
STAGE 3
Schedule and the registerSessions, attendance, missed-session credits. The academy runs on it.
2 weeks
STAGE 4
Levels and progressionSkills scoring, promotion targets, badges.
1 to 2 weeks
STAGE 5
One to ones and creditsCoach availability, booking, paying coaches.
2 to 3 weeks
STAGE 6
Video, messages and the boardThe things that get the app opened on a day off.
2 weeks
STAGE 7
Juniors and parentsChild accounts, parent payment, safeguarding rules.
1 to 2 weeks
STAGE 8
Tournaments and launchDraws and results, then both app stores.
2 weeks

Stages 2 and 3 are the real milestone: at that point the academy can take money and run sessions. Everything after keeps players coming back. Two things need starting immediately because they run on someone else's clock: a D&B number for your company, which both app stores ask for, and the store accounts themselves.

Over to you

Thirteen questions, about eight minutes.

Every answer changes what gets built, so none of this is a formality. Where you are not sure, say so and leave it. Your answers save as you type.

01 · MOVING UP

This is the heart of the app, so the more detail the better. If you do it on instinct rather than a system, that is a perfectly good answer and we will build you one.

02 · BLOCKS
03 · RENEWING

Renewing automatically keeps more players. Asking each time feels fairer to some academies. There is no wrong answer, it just changes the build.

04 · JOINING LATE
05 · MISSED SESSIONS
06 · ONE TO ONES

This is the single biggest question here. Paying coaches through the app is a few weeks of extra work, so it is worth being certain.

07 · COACH PRICING
08 · LESSON PACKS

Buy five, get the sixth free, that sort of thing. Good for cash flow, more to build.

09 · VIDEO

Worth asking plainly: if video is sold separately, Apple takes a cut of every sale. Kept as something your players get, they take nothing.

10 · COACH COURSES

The website sells coach packs, in-person and online courses, and a physical trainer course. That is a different kind of product from weekly training, so it is worth deciding whether it belongs in the same app or stays separate.

11 · OTHER VENUES

The website offers clubs the chance to become a GP Academy venue. If their players and coaches will use the same app, we build for that from the first day. Added later it is a rebuild, so this is the one question worth being certain about.

12 · LANGUAGE

The academy website offers Spanish, English, Portuguese and Italian. Each language in the app is real work and has to be kept up to date forever, so it matters which ones are needed on day one rather than eventually.

13 · ANYTHING ELSE

The thing that wastes most of your week is usually the most useful answer here.
